Attorney that will fight for his clients rights and freedom.
I hired Michael due to false accusations that had been put against me by someone who had a previous past of lying to the court system. I was applying for an amazing job when I found out about the alleged accusations against me. Michael is thorough in asking his clients questions during conversations, and from there he strategically makes a defense for court. He treats every case as if it’s going to trial, and plans accordingly. He privately spoke with the prosecuting attorney, and made it so I never had to go in front of a judge at trial. Michael is very precise with his law studies, and is not afraid to correct people who work for the court if they’re wrong. He communicates with his clients in a very professional manner, and always answers back to texts and calls. Clients always come first! Michael makes you feel like you are his number 1 priority the whole time during a case despite other cases being handled at the same time. From Life in Prison to Probation!!!

I hired a lawyer before Michael (was looking at 4-5 years in prison) just for some marijuana. My old lawyer wanted me to take the felony and they would drop the misdemeanor. Because “it was clear” and he couldn’t find any “loop arounds” so I fired him and hired Michael! Was the best thing I could have possibly did for myself in this case. He drove all the way up to gaylord to take my case on (case been going on for OVER 2 years now) Michael fought hard in my case and after today’s court looks like all charges will be dropped very soon! Id highly recommended hiring him for your cases as well. If I ever run into another issue like this they will be my go to 100%. Only lawyer I trust taking on a case like this. I feel very blessed to have found the perfect attorney in in Michigan let alone St. Clair County. But I feel even more blessed to have to have found Michael Kormorn. My charges were many, it all seemed so hopeless. I went to attorney after after attorney who kept telling me to “go ahead just plead guilty”, I wasn’t guilty, so I refused to plead guilty (That’s why so many attorneys in St. Clair County have such great “win” rates) THEN a friend recommended Michael. When my home was raided and tore upside down, family taken to jail, to be let our 3 days later to find all of our vehicles were seized, TV’s taken, bank accounts seized, wallet taken, computers, cellphones, my covered trailer, guns, all of our files (including marriage license, birth certificates, all tax records and receipts, 5 vehicle titles) my entire garden of LEGALLY GROWN medical marijuana. I made some calls and I had 3 different people, including a local attorney, that recommended that I call Michael Komorn. I am so happy that I did. Michael isn’t like every other attorney that I’ve had in the past. They are trained to make a plea deal. And, that is what they try to convince you of. I was standing on the edge facing years of prison. I had an attorney who just tried to get me to move on and plea. A plea would have ruined my life, my future, my family and any chance of appeal. I decided to make a call and talk to another attorney just for the heck of it. Thank god I called Michael after looking around the internet. After talking to him he explained what he was going to do and how the outcome would potentially be. If you are looking for an attorney that is going to stand up for you and your rights, truly fight for you and not get bullied by the system, Michael Komorn is your guy, and the Komorn Law Firm is your team.
Michael successfully represented my case for a 2A rights restoration appeal and not only earned his fee, but my gratitude, respect and appreciation.
On the morning of my hearing date, the court docket was loaded and several cases were called prior to mine. I can only speculate that the Judge must have had a rough weekend because on this Monday morning, the atmosphere in the courtroom was intense and adversarial. I didn’t seem to matter what side of a particular case counsel was on, if you were an attorney in front of this Judge on that morning, you were in for a rough ride. As cases were called and heard, I began to get an uneasy feeling and anxiety that this was not going to go well for me. True to my suspicions, when my case was called, the Judge came out swinging and Michael immediately seemed to be on the ropes. Michael couldn’t get two words out in response to any query before the Judge would cut him off and the frustration was beginning to show. Michael however persisted with what I thought was a professional effort to present the facts and at one point, the Judge even threatened Michael with contempt. Everything the Judge had asked for during the session was right there in the filling, she just refused to look at it. The Judge eventually decided to take a pass on ruling the case and I wasn’t quite sure what was going to happen next. My mind was reeling from the incredulousness of what had just occurred. It felt as if I was in the middle of a day-time TV show.
After about two hours, my case was recalled before the Judge. In this session, the atmosphere was completely different. The conversation was professional and courteous. Michael was allowed to present the facts as they were provided with the filling and the Judge respectfully allowed them into the record. Michael skillfully navigated the session to allow my personal testimony to be presented before the Judge. Given this opportunity, I knew this would be my best chance to provide convincing and compelling evidence to the Judge. Michael pursued a strategic line of questioning that took the testimony right to the heart of the issue. The evidence and testimony presented represented an overwhelming preponderance and the Judge dutifully ruled in my favor.
I believe justice was served on this day and the “system” worked.
Michael and his team stood with me and did not back down in the face of adversity. Many thanks to Michael and the Komorn Law Firm and to the Judge for doing the right thing. I know things are getting crazy in our world today, however, having faith in GOD and doing the right thing in spite of it all is what will see us through to a better day.

Over the course of our multi year cases, Michael and his team became like family. The care he gives to your case and your personal well being is like no other. I’ve never met a lawyer that cares as much as him. Not to mention his UNPARALLELED court room skills. Watching him in action has to be seen to be appreciated. We watched in awe as Sheriffs tripped on their tongues and perjured themselves. If you want a lawyer who is going to fight for you and stand up to the judge on what’s right and what’s wrong, Michael and his associates are who you need and want. I had a complicated CPS case that started in Alabama and got transferred back to Michigan. My child was taken over my husband having cannabis in the trunk of my car. It is illegal in Alabama but legal in Michigan but the Michigan court was trying to enforce Alabama’s harsh cannabis laws. Michael was not having it and argued a very strong argument, which in result changed the outcome of the hearing. The courts was absolutely not planning on returning my child at the beginning of the hearing but after Michael made his argument and pointed out the true facts and laws (he is so intelligent and swiftly with words) the courts had no choice but to rule in our favor. I have to include that as soon as the hearing started the court tried to throw some curve balls in saying they never received the motion to return child and that they would set another date for that motion but Michael still persisted to argue the motion and even challenged the court on statements they made. He is not scared of no judge and no prosecutor. He reads through every paper of your case and tears through every word of it. He is organized and on his top game. I walked into that court room with no hope of my son being returned to me yet (not bc of Michael but bc of what my case worker told me would happen) and now I sit writing this review 4 days later with my son crawling all over me at home. Michael and his associates will make sure you have the best defense you could ever ask for. I’m living proof.

I highly recommend Michael Komorn @ Komorn Law and his associates that back him up.
Over a few years, I researched Marijuana cases (Medical and non-Medical) and talked to many accused defendants, looking for a good Lawyer, just in case I ever needed one someday. I found a handful of attorneys that seemed very good, but over time I heard stories from defendants about their lawyers putting the squeeze on them the day before court and other problems. Michael Komorn never did that. One friend of mine who had the police bust in his door after a tip from Comcast, had chosen a well known excellent attorney, and then after problems with that attorney, he switched and hired Michael Komorn and with his help successfully won his case to his satisfaction.
Michael Komorn would come to Court prepared for battle. When the Court did what they wanted and continued to deny motion after motion (after thinking to myself, boy that was a great argument by my attorney Michael Komorn). Denied again and again, unbelievable (you had to be there to believe it), the Railroad Train just kept going. Michael regrouped and kept going. He threw himself in front of the train and derailed it. Court later postponed my trial, after 3 years, 1 day before it was to start, for another year( which became 2 more years).
Michael didn’t wait for the trial, he went into action and made appeals to the Court of Appeals about the poor incorrect decisions from the Court. I had never had heard of appeals made before a trial, usually after the result of a trial. The Court of Appeals ruled instantly that 2 of 3 felony marijuana charges against me should not be charges. This left one felony charge of the sale of 1 gram (1 joint) to a licensed Medical Marijuana patient.
Michael Komorn and his associates at Komorn Law listened to me and my suggestions, and didn’t do anything I didn’t want done.
After more than 5 years of fighting the flawed System, the case was resolved to my satisfaction.
When you are up against a powerful System, you need and want someone that is Battle Hardened and can think on his feet after being knocked down.
It was brutal, and fighting a Court that does whatever they want (they don’t need to listen, they act like their minds are already made up).
It shouldn’t be that tough, but if it is, and you pick Michael and his team. You will be glad you took my advice and chose Michael Komorn as your Champion, to defend you against a powerful System.

Finding yourself as a defendant to the prosecution of the State of Michigan is exhausting, tedious and terrifying at times; but there are many “GoodKomornings” when you hire Komorn Law. Michael and his team do nothing less than move mountains for their client! Michael and his team(McCormick&Miller) represented and aided me in a OWI(marijuana impairment) charge for 2 years until its resolution. Komorn gave me alot of reassurance & understanding throughtout to what was going on in my case, by explaining away the intimidating judicial jargon. Michael and his team are all very knowledgeable & diligent seamlessly working as one. They offer an intimidation factor themselves with their level of professionalism and preparedness, sent my county court house scrambling. The original charge against me was an OWI in March 2019. Truthfully I think Komorn would of had it taken care of much quicker if it wasn’t for how crooked my district and county are, in fact he did, having my case originally dismissed upon my first status hearing. That victory was quickly taken away starting months more of fighting, then March 2020 where Covid19 pretty much stopped the world. But it didn’t slow down Komorn Law one bit, the tenacity of Michael and his team is outstanding and worth every cent. My district played hard ball but so does Komorn Law. March 2021 my OWI charge was dropped down to a Civil Infraction, upon the final processing of this charge Michael insisted on paying the cash fine himself for me then and there so I could finally wash my hands of 2 years of stress. If that isn’t extreme client care I don’t know what is. I was 23 when I accidentally slid into a ditch, that’s what Michael saw it as, an accident that could of happened to anyone that time of year. To my county the smell of Marijuana made me a criminal, a danger to society even after its legalization. When it comes to Marijuana chumped up charges Komorn fights and hightlights that the science to prove Marijuana impairment isn’t there yet, those statutes are yet to exist. That scientifically how could any court or lab prosecute beyond a reasonable doubt with lack of valid scientific proof. After two years of fighting Komorn Law got me that victory. I feel like I finally have my future back. I am extremely grateful to Komorn Law.

I reached out to Mr. Komorn at a time where I was in a really bad situation while on probation and I felt as if there was no solution to get me into a safe position. From the beginning, Mr. Komorn instantly eased my stress with my situation because he instantly started ideating and thinking of ways to get me into the best predicament possible. From the beginning, it was amazingly impressive how passionate Mr. Komorn was, because he resiliently thought of solutions quickly and began to take the steps to complete them. In the actual court room, Mr. Komorn’s work was amazing, as he was even commented on by the judge as a “lawyer that has much higher experience and expertise compared to others”. I watched Mr. Komorn beautifully execute all of the work and resources that he had prepared for the numerous court hearings. Michael was retained to handle a very serious and complex criminal and civil case involving a family member charged with violating Michigan’s medical marijuana act. My son has a chronic auto immune condition that has been treated for several years successfully with a specialized treatment. My garden was raided and seized in late Sept 2015. Bill Schuette was at my home during the raid. When they finally filed charges on me there were 14 felony charges. The Attorney General is who was prosecuting me. I had 3 different sources that all told me that I had to contact Michael Komorn to represent me. I am so happy that I did. It was almost a 5 yr battle but Michael’s “second place is the first loser” attitude kept him fighting through everything they could throw at us. He never asked me to take a plea deal like other lawyers do. He fights to win. In the end, all of my charges were dropped and I had to pay a $1 fine for a civil infraction. I would strongly recommend him for any defense case!!! He is the best!!!

I was charged with Reckless Driving in Bloomfield Hills, which is a misdemeanor. Michael and his team were able to ple it down to an illegal U-Turn which is a Civil Infraction and a $125 fine. WIN. A horrible situation after the house was being raided and then arrested for drugged driving offenses when they stopped the car on the way to the house. The courts applied pressure trying to take money and belongings. Michael stopped them in their tracks and helped get it all back from the criminal enterprise they are running. Michael Komourn totally shut down the prosecution on my marijuana case! Prosecutor had nothing, Michael proved every point beyond a doubt and in the end the prosecutor conceded with a total dismissal. Even the court reporter and the bailiff said that I had an excellent attorney. Grand slam game over!!

Back in March 2015, my home and two businesses were shuttered by the Western Wayne Narcotics Unit, a cross functional task force. After arresting and holding myself, my 21 year old son and an employee in jail for 36 hours, they rifled through every crevice of my personal belongings, picking and choosing what they’d like to steal. Yes steal. Many things were taken, and not written on the seizure list.
Regardless to say, my son and I were charged with five felony charges for operating a legal dispensary in Canton. That’s when I called Michael Komorn.
This man was a godsend. The amount of passion and dedication he had to the case was amazing and much more than any other attorney would have offered. His tenacity over the four year trial uncovered that the prosecuting attorney (from the state), lead detective and the confidential informant all PERJURING themselves in open court!
Michael was able to prove that the search warrant was illegal, ultimately a violation of our 4th amendment rights, dropping felonies in Washtenaw County where my home and one business was. Wayne county felony charges, based on the inconsistencies with the prosecutions case, additional felonies were dismissed.
The case isn’t over. The gross injustice that has taken place in the State is unforgivable. We have filed several official grievances against the police department, the Wayne County Judge (former assistant DA) and a civil suit pending against the confidential informant.
Without the help and support, emotionally and legally, Michael will forever be a lifesaver to me. Facing 40 years in prison, you should know who to trust. Micheal is the one. He gave me and my family the opportunity to rebuild. For that I am forever grateful.

Let me start by saying I have known Mr. Komoron for several years and in all the years I have known him he has always been at the forefront of the battle for justice. Attorneys sometimes get a bad reputation simply for not working for free. Well who does? Attorney’s have the right to feed and care for their families the same as the rest of us. I see some people quoting exerts of the law and telling people to defend themselves but I am reminded of another old quote : “He who represents himself has a fool for a client”. That’s Abraham Lincoln who was also an attorney.

We I can attest to the fact that when we were robed at gun point by law enforcement Mr Komoron was there to help. And after they robbed us we did not even have enough money to buy my insulin or food for our family. Even worse when a vindictive prosecutor with a very sorted past filed charges against us it looked very bleak, but Mr. Komoron called and assured us everything would be ok. And that was important. I seen several cases where the victim ran out of money or for what ever reason tried to defend themselves with a very poor outcome.

So for almost 3 years these parasites tortured our family and Mr. Komorn never once faltered. At some points it seemed as if he was the only person standing between us and what appeared to be a large organized crime organization hell bent on killing us off.

Money well spent I would say. I should mention that we were still unable to even cover the cost of his gas to come defend us, none the less he would get up before dawn and make the long hazardous trip on his on dime just to defend us. I have never known anyone in any field to to something like this. And not once did he ever ask when we were going to pay, he was always planning ways to defend the next attack. He did his research and was prepared every time. I remember once getting a message from him and thinking to myself what all he must be giving up just to help us.

Family time comes to mind first, sleep, there must be a ton energy diverted to this cause. I like quotes so her is another: “You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.” I also believe you sometimes get what you pay for. Mr. Komorn and Komorn Law are a big bang for the buck. At one point he had out maneuvered them so bad that the judge sunk to a new low by saying “we do things differently up north”. Well that’s a true statement considering they tried to make up the law as they went. However Mr. Komorn knows the law front and back and after years of dealing with parasites he knows exactly what to expect form them. His staff is top notch and friendly. Every time we spoke to anyone for his office we felt like they really cared as to what was going on.

And Mr. Komorn never once advised us to “take a plea”. As I seen several others tell their clients to do. It will be easier they say….Well Mr. Komorn believes in standing up for whats right. He always said we can fights this and we can win. And we did. He even had the prosecutor begging him not to sue them. Our family will forever be in debt to Mr. Komorn even after the monetary value is paid.

Michael Komorn is a lawyer that comes through when you need him. He is always available to answer our questions and immediately gets to work to solve our problems. We have used him many times. He’s the first person we call when anyone has a traffic ticket and we always walk away happy with the results.

THIS WAS MORE SERIOUS AND COULD HAVE BEEN VERY VERY EXPENSIVE! Today we went to court to fight two tickets for dumping in a neighboring city. We had hired and paid an individual with a pickup truck to take away some refuse, appliances and carpet to the dump. We paid for his time and six dumps. A week later we received notice of illegal dumping and we were served to appear in court. I have known Michael for years and have been acquainted with him as a fellow activist playing major roles in the Michigan marijuana scene. The common thread we have is humanitarian in nature and shares the philosophy of how information has the power to influence and change lives.

Michael has worked tirelessly to defend patients and caregivers in court as well as dedicated a huge part of his life to the general well being of the state. He does this by making countless efforts in our states capital with legislators as well as by taking many cases to the Michigan Supreme Court. Michael has also claimed a major victory for our nephew in Federal Court regarding medical marijuana and the lack of funds available for federal authorities to arrest and prosecute patients here in MI. United States vs Neece.

This is my third victory in Michigan against bogus marijuana felonies since I become legal in 2010. Michael’s dedication and commitment as my attorney reached far beyond any normal attorney client relationship. I am an extremely passionate and involved client like no other.
