Former Monroe County Narcotics Officer Sentenced to 2-20 Years in Prison

Luke Davis, a former Monroe County narcotics officer was sentenced to 2-20 years in federal prison after his motion was denied to withdraw the no-contest plea to racketeering he entered in May of 2013. Originally, Davis faced 24 felony charges, but with the plea to racketeering the other 23 were dropped.

Luke Davis and two other officers were accused of looting the drug forfeiture fund from the task force he ran in Monroe known as OMNI. Prosecutors say he and his co-defendants took property seized in drug raids, took some of it for themselves and sold the rest for cash. Along with the criminal matter, a civil suit is to follow aimed at stripping Mr. Davis and his co-defendants of his police pension. For more on the story, click here, and here.
